Great Escape Unveils New Theme Park Logo Celebrating A Legacy More Than 70 Years in the Making

New identity honors Storytown USA roots while highlighting the rides, waterpark and Adirondack setting that define Great Escape

QUEENSBURY, N.Y. — October 2, 2026 — Great Escape today unveiled its new theme park logo, marking the next chapter for the longtime Lake George region attraction while celebrating more than 70 years of history. Formerly known as Six Flags Great Escape, the park’s new identity brings together recognizable elements of its Storytown USA roots, picturesque Adirondack setting and generations of family fun.

“Great Escape has grown and changed throughout its history, but the traditions and memories created here have always been at the heart of the park,” said Andrew Burggraf, park president, Great Escape Resort. “This new logo celebrates where Great Escape began while representing everything guests know and love about the park today. It connects our past with an exciting new chapter as part of Enchanted Parks.”

Great Escape traces its roots to Storytown USA, which opened in 1954 and introduced families to classic storybook attractions and experiences. Several elements of the original park remain today, preserving a visible connection to more than seven decades of history.

The new logo incorporates several elements inspired by Great Escape’s history and location:

  • Merry Miller’s Mill (The Mill House) represents Great Escape’s Storytown USA roots. The storybook attraction, with its distinctive waterwheel, remains in the park today and continues to welcome children inside to explore.
  • The roller coaster represents Great Escape’s collection of thrill rides and family attractions that have become part of the park experience through the decades.
  • The water splash represents the outdoor waterpark and its longtime role in the Great Escape experience.
  • The Adirondack mountains and evergreen trees reflect Great Escape’s location at the base of the Adirondack Mountains and its longstanding connection to the Lake George region.
  • “By Enchanted Parks” acknowledges Great Escape’s next chapter with its new ownership. Together, Enchanted Parks and Great Escape will continue the park’s tradition of providing family fun for generations to come.

The logo is the first in a series of updated identities planned for the property. New branding for the outdoor waterpark, Great Escape Lodge and the indoor waterpark will be unveiled later this year.

The transition follows Great Escape’s purchase by Enchanted Parks earlier this year. While the name and visual identity are evolving, the park remains focused on preserving its longtime traditions while investing in the guest experience for future generations.

Great Escape remains open for Fright Fest and Boo Fest weekends through Oct. 25. Guests visiting this fall will begin to see the new branding at the park’s front gate, including two new signs featuring the updated park logo. The broader brand transition will continue in phases into 2027.
